The
Tibetan culture is a gigantic treasure box of intrinsic wisdom and has a
universal importance for the past, the present and for future generations. It
started more than 4000 years ago in Shang Shung, the first kingdom of Tibet, and
its magnificent knowledge and understanding has been kept alive through all the
centuries. The
Shang Shung Institute for Tibetan studies is committed to the
preservation of Tibetan culture. All our activities have the aim to maintain the
survival of the unique culture and understanding of the Tibetan people and thus
keeping alive the essential values of these traditions.
In order to guarantee that also future generation will have access to the extraordinary wisdom of the Tibetan people everybody has to take over some responsibility to preserve this culture as nowadays it is running danger to get completely lost.
